You’re on a roof with a capacitor in your teeth. The next ring is no heat and a baby in the house. That caller does not wait through four rings and a greeting.

Your phone still rings

Missed-call mode: the cell rings in your pocket. If you don’t pick up, you decline, you’re already on a call, or the phone can’t be reached — we answer as the HVAC company. Always-answer is the other switch, if you want the pocket quiet.

Then two texts

You get the ticket. They get the hold. English or Spanish, no “press 1.”

Questions shops actually ask

Do homeowners call a new HVAC number?
No. They call the cell that’s already on the truck and the Google listing. You forward missed calls — or every call — to us.
What if the carbon monoxide alarm is going off?
That’s an emergency, and they are told to get out and call 911 if the alarm is sounding. You still get the ticket so you can follow up. We do not play dispatcher for a CO event.
